Abstract

Meranti Islands Regency is one of the regencies in Riau Province which is located in the border area of the State. As one of the districts that has quite high human resource potential, improving the quality of education is very important. This paper aims to offer ideas and concepts about improving the quality of education in Meranti Islands Regency based on local wisdom. It is hoped that this can answer various problems that exist in education in the Meranti Islands Regency. Improving the quality of local wisdom-based education is improving the quality of education by prioritizing worldviews, knowledge based on the local community's views of life in order to answer existing challenges or problems. This paper is descriptive-analytical in nature and uses the documentation method to collect data related to the topic of discussion. The process of collecting data is done by reading, taking notes, then describing and arranging them systematically. While the analysis technique used is content analysis and concept analysis. The author concludes that local wisdom is very important as a basis for managing education in the Meranti Islands Regency in order to improve the quality of quality education. The author also offers the idea that the development and utilization of potential, namely human potential, religious potential, cultural potential and natural potential must continue to be internalized in the education management system in the Meranti Islands Regency.
